Course Length:
One 3-hour class per week for 4 weeks (12 Hours + weekly writing assignment)
Course Description:
This course is an exploration of blue using Method Writing as a means for discovery. Students will be immersed in art, music, and literature as a prompt for creating work. As a writer, the students will investigate themes to illuminate and expand their territory as artists and their relationship to their own deep voice.
Student Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to:
– Produce 3 completed pieces of method writing for OFFTHEBUS that demonstrates the workshops theme.
– Further develop mastery in Method Writing techniques.
– Analyze art, music, and literature and clearly articulate formal elements, historical references, theoretical connections, and metaphorical attributes through their own voice.
– Read, discuss, and critique their own and their peers’ work.
Instructional Methods:
This course is taught using a variety of instructional methods including lecture, class discussion, writing prompts, and group exercises.
